About the Webmistress
Greetings! My name is Carol but I go by mist online. I am fascinated by words, especially names, so the geek in me has to tell you the origin of mine.
I’ve been a video game girl almost since I was born and my classic fav was Final Fantasy3 for SNES. I fell in love with the main female character Terra, but wanting to make her my own I renamed her mist because her esper form and personality reminded me of a misty atmosphere or forest. Years later when I created my first screen name I came up with mistnlove. I’ve had a few other screen names for various things but when I’m plugged into the web mist is who I am.
So… heres a bit of the basics about me. I’m 26, married to my bestfriend whom I’ve known since I was 16. We have 3 cats who I love like family. I live in an old house we bought with the intentions of remodeling but who knows if we will ever actually finish any or all of our projects. I’m finally a senior in college, pursuing a BFA with a concentration in Graphic Design. I love art. I love design. I love technology, but I am sometimes afraid of how it might change our society. I was raised a Star Trek girl and credit it and many other shows and stories with many of my good qualities. Wow, I am such a nerd! lol. Which brings me to my I love list.
I love:
- Star Trek, While I love them all Captain Picard is my all time fav. I grew up watching reruns of the next generation as a sort of family ritual with my dad. I can’t count how many time I fell to sleep to the sound of his voice. I always wished that I could have been born into the world of Star Trek. The ideals expressed in the show have definately had a significant effect on me. And might I just express my forever enduring love of all things Q.
- X-Men (I was reading the comics and watching the cartoons while still in elementary school.)
- Sailor Moon, now this was the first show that I actually got up early for. I fell in love with Sailor Moon during my Junior High years when they first started showing it on Dic. My first website was dedicated to Sailor Moon and even to this day I still try to maintain a fansite located at www.mooniecentral.com
- Books, especially ones on fantasy, sci fi, and educational subjects. One of the best feelings in the world is to hold a good book close to your heart, especially if it makes you cry.
- Art & Design, though I find myself feeling pretty burnt out after 3 very gruuling semesters. Studying art is great, but whenever you’re a student of something, you might often find yourself discovering that you’re so busy trying to keep up with what the teachers try to cram into your head that you don’t have the time to actually sit back and enjoy it.
- Interior Design. I actually have a diploma in Residential Planning, which is an intense one year interior design degree and I am disgusted to admit that I have never had the opportunity to use it because I resumed work on my BFA in graphic design as soon as I got it. Maybe one day…
- Here are just a few more of the things I love: college, plants, animals, movies, music, laughing, silliness, cuddeling, singing, dancing, and quiet evenings spent alone.
About Forgotten Kingdoms
Forgotten Kingdoms, known originally as dolls by mist, was first created way back in 2001. I, mist, dolled pretty heavily for about 3 years and then became pretty sporadic due the many things life throws ones way when you get out of high school and move out on your own. I can’t count how many times I’ve redesigned my website, but I’ve almost always used MicroSoft Frontpage, now known as Web Expression. I think I used the domain www.empireofmist.com, for my website at first and then changed it to www.mistnlove.com . For the moment I will continue using www.mistnlove.com and will also used www.forgotten-kingdoms.com . It is now May of 2009 and I am attempting to finally get back into my web and dolling habits. I’m starting anew and am trying out a WordPress installation for my site.
So welcome to version 1.0 Rebirth.
